Terrorism and Criminal Justice

In R v G and J 05/03/2009 Times Law Reports, the House of Lords heard two appeals concerning section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 c. 11. Section 58 created an offence relating to making a record of information “of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.” Considering earlier case law, the House of Lords issued guidance on the interpretation of section 58 and allowed both appeals.
