EU Case Information Page
As with all JustCite Information Pages, there are several different Views available via the navigation links on the left-hand side of the screen. The default view is Overview and Citations.
Overview & Citations
This view provides a summary of the information JustCite holds about the case, including:
- Title
- Summary – relevant catchwords categorising the case, taken from the EURO-VOC Thesaurus
- Precise Legal Point – EU Legislative provisions cited in the operative part of the judgment. Note that only the first 3 entries will be displayed on the Overview & Citations view. To see if there are more than 3 entries, check the Precise Legal Point view for the full list.
- Document Number – the document’s unique CELEX number
- Document Reference – the document’s Official Journal Reference
- Recent Juridical Citations – recent previous EU documents referred to in judgment in the instant case.
- Recent Subsequent Juridical Citations – recent subsequent EU judgments referring to the instant case.
Viewing the full text
On the right of the screen is a list of providers offering the full text of the judgment. Because JustCite offers only the CELEX number as a citation for an EU case there is no list of parallel citations to expand first as there is on the Case Information Page.
To view the full text of the judgment, select the third party database of your choice from the list. The full text of the document will open in a new window via the selected service.
Some of the third party destinations JustCite uses are subscription-based, so you may need to enter a username and password for access. Once you have logged in to the service successfully, you will be taken straight to the text of the document.
The list of full-text providers can be customised so that services to which your organisation does not subscribe are greyed out.
