Detail

Description of Chambers 'An outstanding set, head and shoulders above virtually all of the competition' is how Chambers and Partners has described our clinical negligence practice, which is only one of our many strong civil law specialisms. We are one of the largest civil law sets in England and are regularly listed in this country's top 20 or 30 sets.
Areas of Practice This set is recognised as having leading practitioners in specialisms including clinical and other professional negligence; professional disciplinary work; personal injury; public and administrative law; public inquiries; immigration and asylum; human rights; healthcare; environmental law; matrimonial finance and property; costs; tax and employment law. They have also successful practices in multi-party actions; technology and construction; and sports law. Chambers has a team of 14 accredited mediators.
Additional Information The set has a long tradition of active engagement in the legal and wider community. It has provided three former Chairmen of the Bar and has been awarded 'Platinum Friend in Law' status by the Bar Pro Bono Unit and the Free Representation Unit for the financial and legal support provided to them. It also provides the widely acclaimed UK Human Rights Blog at ukhumanrightsblog.com and the free Human Rights Update Service at www.humanrights.org.uk. In the 2010 Black Solicitors Network Survey of equality and diversity at the Bar, the set came top of all chambers surveyed.
Public Access Instructions are accepted from members of other professions who have direct access to the Bar and from foreign lawyers
