AALL it’s cracked up to be

30th June 2011

Taking place in Portland from 12th to 15th July, this year’s Annual Meeting & Conference of the American Association of Law Libraries will be attended by three members of the Justis Publishing Team.

One of them, our customer trainer David Finch, has been invited by the organisers to sit as a guest speaker on a panel that will discuss “Acquiring content in a global marketplace: exploring vendor relations across borders”.

Gradually acquiring something of a cult following on the British legal information provision circuit, David will debut for America between 10.45 and 11.45 on the morning of 14th July.

“I look forward to entering what, for us, is a remarkably apposite topic of discussion”, said David. “We’ve always paid great attention to how we can improve the service for our many overseas customers and this talk provides a useful forum to demonstrate the progress we’ve made”, he added, noting that likely discussion points would include communication, vendor reputation, pricing models, alternative sources and payment, as well as ad hoc questions from the floor.

But it’s not all about legal showbiz glitz; David and his colleagues – Keith Waddoups and Emma Wiseman – will be manning the Justis Publishing stand and offering one-to-one demonstrations of the Justis legal library, as well as the time-saving, provider-neutral citator JustCite. With a year’s worth of technical refinements behind it, Justis holds the consummate comparative law package. Ideal for US academics, it includes the English ReportsState Trials and every UK Statute from 1235 onwards . The new online International Law Reports and Justis EU will also be showcased there.

Delegates are invited to visit David, Keith and Emma at Booth 337, near the Internet Room, where they can enter our Barrister Bear draw and obtain login details for a month’s free trial of our services.
