Annex I, Section I.1, Annex II, Section II.1 and Annex III, Section III.1 to Directive 2008/68/EC refer to provisions set out in international agreements on the inland transport of dangerous goods by road, rail and inland waterways as defined in Art. 2 of that Directive. The provisions of these international agreements are updated every two years. Consequently, amended versions of these agreements will apply as from 1 January 2011, with a transitional period up to 30 June 2011. Annex I, Section I.1, Annex II, Section II.1 and Annex III, Section III.1 to Directive 2008/68/EC are therefore amended accordingly by this Directive which Member States must implement in national law by 30 June 2011. The amendments are however minor and mainly refer to replacing the terms "contracting party" and "RID Contracting State" with the term "member state" as appropriate. |
