Valid Case Report Reference Formats – Case NamesJustCite can recognise full case names, such as “Reg. v. Fulling”, and words from case names, such as “Fulling”. Do not include “ver.” or “versus” when searching for a case name. For a full case name, the spelling in the reference must match that in the original document. Therefore if the reference is “Reg. v. Fulling”, then this will not match “R. v. Fulling” or “Regina v. Fulling”. It can be better to use words for which the spelling is certain. For example “Fulling” would retrieve “R. v. Fulling”, “Reg. ver. Fulling” or “Regina versus Fulling”. If you need to include the crown as one of the parties, use: (r or reg or regina or "the queen" or rex or "the crown") Words in case names are not case-sensitive, and so proper names such as “Fulling” do not have to be entered with a capital letter. |
