JustCite API

Introduction

With our Justis and JustCite Linking API technology, you can now build the power of our reference recognition technology into your own systems, products and services.

Technical platform

  • Justis and JustCite both use Microsoft’s .NET framework, a state-of-the-art development environment allowing us to implement component-based, distributed web applications in a robust and flexible manner.

  • The APIs are available as web services – an industry standard and non-proprietary way of connecting to remote services across the Internet.

  • Developers can program using their favourite environment and technology – such as Java, Perl, Microsoft Visual Studio.NET – and easily integrate the API’s functionality into their own applications. (Interface elements, business logic, and miscellaneous application functionality – e.g. saved searches – are not exposed in the interface.)

  • An API development kit is provided with full documentation, examples and test application, allowing you to be up and running quickly.

This means …

  • Query and retrieve any data – or portion of that data – in any way you want, and have access to the full range of search functionality, including:
    • Search specific legal areas, e.g. Irish case law, European Directives, UK statutes;

    • Reference searches;

    • Subject and title indexes;

    • Simple and advanced searches;

    • Link to full-text documents within Justis and other services (via JustCite functionality);

    • Find document cross-references – e.g. parallel citations, cases cited and subsequent cases for any case or statute (via JustCite functionality);

    • Use powerful search engine features such as Boolean operators, wild card and fuzzy matching, date ranges;

  • Have the freedom to use, extend and customise the service in the ways you want, and integrate it into your own applications.
