New visualisation tool on JustCite

22nd February 2011

We are very proud to announce the launch of the JustCite Precedent Map – an exciting and unique new addition to the service which went live this afternoon.

The Precedent Map is a novel way of visualising the relationships between cases in such a way as to create an intuitive and refreshing alternative to traditional, text-based search techniques – a concept often talked about but never before realised.

You can see how families of cases cite each other in a network, navigate between them, identify the most important authorities and find other cases that may be related to your line of enquiry.

Recently featured in The Barrister Magazine, the map is the product of many months of design and development, and is the latest breakthrough in our on-going commitment to improving legal research through innovation.

You can access the map by clicking on the link on the left-hand side of the JustCite information page. Full details on how to use it can be found in the JustCite Help.

This feature is almost as new to us as it is to you, so we would be grateful for your feedback and suggestions.

We hope you find it useful and fun.
