Barristers now on JustCite

19th April 2011

If you practise at the Bar of England and Wales, the chances are that you are now on JustCite.

This is the result of a new arrangement with Havers Companion to the Bar, which maintains bibliographic and contact information on over 11,500 barristers and their key cases.

From today, Havers barrister profiles now also appear on the JustCite citator and search engine, where they are searchable alongside articles, legislation and over half a million cases.

Most importantly, when barristers use the Havers website to update the cases they’ve been involved with, matches are automatically cross-referenced against JustCite’s huge and growing index of reported cases.

This provides a route to barristers not just from their searchable profiles but from any case that they’re attached to; great news for instructing solicitors and a fillip for any barrister eager to promote themselves to JustCite’s enormous user base.

In a parallel and complementary move, JustCite’s sign-in page has been moved to deeper within the service. This means that although full JustCite records are viewable only to subscribers, searching and results summaries are open to anyone who visits http://www.justcite.com

Justis Publishing’s Jonathan Daymond said: “JustCite has over 30,000 registered users across the legal profession. So this is a fantastic opportunity for barristers and their chambers to enjoy some of the most targeted exposure currently available anywhere.”
