Case Information Page
As with all JustCite Information Pages, there are several different Views available via the navigation links on the left-hand side of the screen. The default view is Overview and Citations.
Overview & Citations
This view provides a summary of the information JustCite holds about the case, including:
- Title
- Subject matter
- Key Cases Considered
- Key Subsequent Cases
In this context, 'key' refers not to the importance or otherwise of the previous or subsequent case, but to the strength of the positive or negative treatment of or by the instant case. In other words, strong positive and negative treatments such as 'Approved' or 'Overruled' will be considered 'Key' and will appear in this list.
- Citations for every report of the case – broken down by court
- Legislation Considered
- Recent Articles
The three most recent are shown in this view.
- EU Information
Viewing the full text
On the right of the screen is a list of parallel citations. For each court in the case’s procedural history, the most authoritative citation is highlighted in bold.
In order to view the full text of the judgment, click on a citation, then select the third party database of your choice from the drop down list. The full text of the document will open in a new window via the selected service.
Some of the third party destinations JustCite uses are subscription-based, so you may need to enter a username and password for access. Once you have logged in to the service successfully, you will be taken straight to the text of the document.
The list of full-text providers for a particular citation can be customised so that services to which your organisation does not subscribe are greyed out.

- Most authoritative citation for that case
- Key words or phrases that summarise the case
